Shanghai Rules

The game can be played by any number of players.

The players' names are written across the top of the scoreboard and the numbers 1-9 are written down the left side. Vertical lines are drawn to create a column for each player.

On the first round each player tries to score as many as possible on 1s (doubles and trebles count as normal). Only darts hitting 1 counts in the first round. Play then continues the same for rounds 2-9. The player with the highest score after round 9 is the winner unless a player hits "Shanghai" before that.

Shanghai is achieved by hitting a single, double and treble of the target number. If one player hits Shanghai any remaining players who haven't thrown in that round can try to hit Shanghai also. If they do hit Shnghai then play continues with just those players, all other are eliminated. Shanghai doesn't count on the first round. Players will be eliminated if they don't hit the target number on 3, 5, 7 & 9.

So the winner will be the player who hits Shanghai (if only one) or the player who has the highest score after round 9.
